HOW TO APPLY FOR A PERMIT TO EXPORT CULTURAL GOODS?

To apply for a permit to export cultural goods, the following documents must be submitted to the National Heritage Board:

  • application
  • list of cultural goods to be exported or taken out of the country
  • upon the National Heritage Board’s request, photos of the cultural goods, as well as documents proving the person’s right to possess the cultural goods and to export or take them out of the country
In accordance with the amount set out in the State Fees Act, a state fee of 100 EEK (6.39 EUR) shall be paid for processing the export permit application and for granting or refusal of the permit. In case the National Heritage Board discovers during an expertise that the object for which the permit is intended is not of cultural value, a relevant notice shall be issued instead of an export permit and no state fee shall be charged.
